I Wouldn't Worry About It,

We all experience those little existential hiccups that creep up inside and make us doubt what we do it all for, but then we drink some water, do a headstand, and hop on one leg three times in a circle, and the hiccups go away. I am interested in what makes a life that is not guaranteed meaning to be worth living. The things that make the hiccups go away. The act of making is an expressive and cathartic means of sharing with you what I have learned and have yet to understand from my experiences on this big blue ball. Inspired heavily by Post-Impressionism and German Expressionism, this body of work is comprised of gouache paintings that are marred and textured with a focus on atmosphere. I see the world through an absurdist lens, and it’s just as chaotic and uncaring as it is beautiful and exciting. As Albert Camus once asked: “Should I kill myself, or have a cup of coffee?” And I’ll tell you what, a cup of coffee sounds pretty good right about now.
